Something for the weekend

Following quickly on from the success of hidden cocktail cave Bourne & Hollingsworth, the B&H group have just this week opened Reverend JW Simpson, in the very building in which he resided between 1963 and 1987. Offering unique signature cocktails starting at around £8 with table service, just be sure to book in advance.

This has to be one of the most highly awaited collaborations to hit the high street in a long while. Maison Martin Margiela x H&M will launch at 9am instores and at 10am online, and they’ve released a great preview of the collection here so you can start deliberating which piece to invest in. The collection is a testament to the creative lengths H&M will go to to ensure the integrity of the designer, and enables so many of us to finally own an affordable piece of one of fashion’s most well respected designers.

A long time fan of Tim Walker’s editorial shoots for British and American Vogue, I was thrilled to hear of his exhibition at Somerset House. Showcasing his imaginatively oversized props amongst his more iconic and intimate portraits of the likes of Tilda Swinton, Alexander McQueen and Tim Burton, it’s worth a visit if only to pick up one of his stunning prints from the giftshop.

Free entry / Open 18 October – 27 January  / 10:00am – 18:00pm daily
